Deanna Carbonara
APDA Tiny Tots, Juniors 5 - 12 years & Ladies Teacher
Deanna is the current Ladies National Grand Champion 2024, and has also held this title in 2011, 2014, 2017, 2018, and 2022. She has also been awarded numerous national places throughout her career. Deanna has over 25 years of physie and dance teaching experience and has a university degree in education. She is also part of the APDA choreography team and an APDA qualified judge with extensive judging experience including national competitions.
Robyn Sakey
Juniors 5-8 years Teacher
Robyn has been doing physie for over 40 years, and been apart of Shellharbour City Physie and Dance for 25 years. Robyn has been National Champion numerous times and awarded numerous national places throughout her career.

Rhylee Bamford
13 years - Intermediate Senior Teacher
Rhylee has been a member of Shellharbour City Physie & Dance for 15 years. She has been teaching for 3 years, with experience across a range of ages from Tiny Tots to Intermediate Seniors. Rhylee has qualified for the National Championships numerous times over the past years. When she isn't at Physie she is usually studying for her Primary teaching Degree at UOW or spending time with friends.

Amy Whelan
Juniors 9-12 years Teacher
Trained in multiple styles of dance ranging from contemporary and ballet to tap and jazz, Amy has completed training up to advanced in RAD and also ATOD examinations. Having trained in physie for over 12 years, Amy has competed multiple times at a national level, proudly representing SCPD. Amy has also had the pleasure of previously working on the APDA choreography team whilst simultaneously completing her Dance HSC. Amy is now undergoing tertiary study at University of Wollongong, going into her final year of Pre-Med.

Katie Richardson
13 years - Intermediate Seniors Teacher
Katie has extensive experience in performing and choreographing a variety of dance styles and manages the Australian Physie and Dance's Choreography & Music team. She is a life member of Shellharbour City Physie and Dance, has taught for over 15 years, and has achieved many national individual and team places to date. Katie is a qualified Dietitian and Nutritionist, and works as a Senior Planner and Sustainability Lead for NSW Health. She is also a mum of 3 young boys and is passionate about supporting the health and wellbeing of children and young adults.
Rowena Grace
Elite Seniors
Rowena has done physie for over 35 years; has been a member of SCPD for the last 20 years and has taught the elite seniors for 5 years. Rowena has achieved a National Champion title, and many National individual and team places in her career. Away from Physie, Rowena loves spending time with her two children, running them around and watching them do what they love. She has been a NSW Police Officer for 18 years; with specialist training in Rescue and Domestic Violence.

Amanda Beveridge
Ladies Teacher
Amanda has been a member of Shellharbour City Physie & Dance for over 20 Years. Physie is basically her life! Her passion for the sport made her want to be part of the teaching team. Amanda loves to travel, on any free weekend you'll find her hopefully on plane or on the beach.
Jennifer Leis
13-15 yrs Assistant Teacher
Jennifer has been doing Physie since she was 6 years old. She has always had a passion for teaching and supporting young Physie girls into becoming their most confident and resilient versions of themselves. She has been part of APDA’s choreography team for both the 2024 and 2025 Physie syllabuses, and has 3 years of junior assistant teaching across the 5-8yrs and 13-15yrs. Finishing her HSC in 2024, Jennifer is now enrolled with the University of Wollongong for 2025 to study a Bachelor of Nursing.

Karen Cohen
Teacher Mentor
Karen has been teaching with SCPD for 12 years. Karen has placed and won at National level on numerous occasions and in 2009 was the overall Senior Grand Champion. Karen has a university degree in Physical Education and is experienced in many areas of dance and sports.

Cheryl Beveridge
Founding Teacher
Cheryl was the first teacher at Shellharbour City (previously Albion Park Rail) after it was formed in 1982 by a group of local ladies. She taught the entire Club from Babies to Ladies for many years, until with her encouragement and support she has passed the baton to her students.
With a passion for physie and dance, Cheryl was involved in the professional development of all teachers, and retired in 2020.

SCPD Teaching Assistants J.A.T.S
We are very lucky to have some very committed Junior and Senior members of our club, that love physie as much as we do, that attend classes every week and help our teachers during class. Our J.A.T.S also run our Stretch program before classes.
